My supervision services
At Roger Vallance Supervision, I provide a range of specialised supervision services designed to foster growth and address your professional needs. The focus is on deep listening and a person-centred approach, ensuring your goals are at the heart of our work together.
Confidentiality is the first step towards the trust-sharing and listening in superevision.
Clinical supervision
I support beginning and in-training counsellors, as well as those in mid-career, with focused clinical supervision to enhance their practice.
My experience includes contributions to PACFA in the Queensland leadership group as well as training beginning counsellors in their final year of study. Additionally, I support counsellors in their daily work and understand very well the pressures of professional counselling practice.
Confidentiality and professional boundaries are the foundations of our engagement and working alliance.
Pastoral supervision
Providing supervision for educational leaders, ministers, and pastoral workers, especially those in mid-career within parishes and chaplaincy roles.
Pastoral supervision is a special place that is confidential, safe with professional boundaries for active support, a clear focus on personal needs, goals of supervision and support to build capacities and reslience.
Adolescent support
Working with adolescents, to navigate the unique challenges of secondary and tertiary education environments. Typically out of school hours, services are removed from school oversight and are completely confidential within the limits of client safety and legal requirements.
In every case the issues of the adolscent are paramount. Parents are invited to be involved as advised by the young person and as required by the needs of each consultation.
A person-centred approach to growth
What makes supervision special? Unwavering commitment to accepting you as you are and listening intensely to your perceptions and story. I focus on your goals and expressed needs, providing a truly tailored and effective supervisory experience.
It can be helpful to walk with another to explore those 5Ps of self-reflection:
- Presenting problem
- Predisposing factors
- Precipitating fctor
- Perpetuating factors
- Protective factors
Supervision can be a highly valued strength building relationship, not only in times of stress or high emotion, but as leverage to professional efficacy.
Overcoming workplace challenges
Whether student, educational leader, counsellor, minister or pastor or parish worker we all experience challenges and difficulties. sometimes these chsllenges are part of the environment, sometimes arising within ourselves, and at other times a misunderstanding, lack of correct communication or somethinh one wishes not been said.
The opportunity to speak to an individual who is not invloved, who can hear clearly without preconceived ideas or other entanglements, can be valuable. Speaking to an external person in a confidential and safe space can lead to better self-reflection, efficacy towards positive actions and a better focus on next steps.
